AccuSpeech

Accuspeech has evolved, and today we’re simply AccuSpeech.

The new name, website and brand reflect how much our technology, and our customers’ needs, have evolved over the years. But the mission behind AccuSpeech hasn’t changed.

For more than 20 years, we’ve focused on a fairly straightforward challenge: How can we help companies automate more of their warehouse and data collection workflows without forcing them to replace the systems and hardware they’ve already invested in?

That question has led AccuSpeech well beyond traditional voice picking.

Today, our technology brings together voice recognition, scanning, barcode data capture and workflow automation directly on the mobile device. It allows companies to improve the way work gets done while continuing to use their existing WMS, ERP, WCS and data collection infrastructure.

And that’s really what the new AccuSpeech brand represents.

Warehouse Automation Doesn’t Have to Mean Replacing Your WMS

Anyone who has spent time inside a warehouse knows how much technology is already there.

Companies have invested heavily in warehouse management systems, ERP platforms, mobile computers, barcode scanners and specialized applications. Those systems may work perfectly well, yet employees still spend a surprising amount of time looking at screens, entering information, scanning, confirming data and moving between systems while they’re trying to do their actual jobs.

That’s where AccuSpeech fits.

Rather than asking a company to replace its WMS or add another complicated layer of technology, AccuSpeech works with the environment that’s already there.

Our software resides on the mobile device and can interact with existing applications without requiring a dedicated voice server or traditional middleware. AccuSpeech is designed to work across more than 50 WMS platforms, including legacy and modern environments.

For companies with years, and often millions of dollars, invested in their existing systems, that’s an important distinction.

Voice Is Part of the Story. Automation Is the Bigger Story.

AccuSpeech has long been associated with warehouse voice technology, and voice continues to be an important part of what we do.

But if you think AccuSpeech is simply a voice-picking solution, you’re missing much of what the technology can actually do.

Our customers use AccuSpeech across warehouse and operational workflows including picking, receiving, put-away, replenishment, cycle counting, packing and shipping, inventory management, inspections, manufacturing processes and field service applications.

A worker might receive an instruction by voice, scan a barcode, verbally confirm a quantity and immediately move to the next task. Another workflow may rely primarily on scanning and automated data capture.

The point isn’t to force every process into voice. The point is to use the right technology for the workflow.

That’s why AccuSpeech supports voice, scanning, barcode automation and intelligent data capture within the same environment.

There’s More Information in a Barcode Than Many Companies Are Using

This is an area we’re particularly passionate about. Companies scan millions of barcodes, but simply scanning a barcode and capturing everything contained within it are not necessarily the same thing.

AccuSpeech can parse and capture the individual data points contained within barcodes and make that information available within the workflow.

For operations teams, that can open opportunities to automate processes that previously required additional scans, manual entries or employee intervention.

It’s also a good example of how we think about automation at AccuSpeech. We don’t begin by asking, “Where can we add voice?” We ask, “Where is unnecessary work happening, and how can we automate it?”

Sometimes the answer is voice. Sometimes it’s scanning. Sometimes it’s better use of the data that’s already available.

Often, it’s a combination of all three.

Built Around the Technology You Already Own

Warehouse technology environments are rarely simple.

A company may operate several facilities using different generations of hardware. One warehouse may run SAP while another operates Manhattan or a proprietary WMS. A business may also have specialized applications that have been developed and refined over many years.

Replacing all of that simply to gain access to better automation often makes little business sense.

AccuSpeech is designed to operate across those environments and support the technology already in place.

That flexibility becomes particularly valuable for large organizations, 3PLs and companies operating multiple facilities where standardization doesn’t necessarily mean every building has identical technology.

Supporting a Multilingual Workforce

The warehouse workforce has changed considerably over the past two decades, and language flexibility has become increasingly important. AccuSpeech’s speaker-independent voice technology supports multiple languages without requiring the traditional individual voice-enrollment process.

Languages can be deployed based on the needs of a particular facility, country, shift or workforce.

For companies managing diverse teams, seasonal employees or multiple facilities, that flexibility can simplify deployment while allowing workers to interact with technology in the language most appropriate for them.

Proven in Real-World Operations

Over the years, AccuSpeech technology has been used by organizations including Procter & Gamble, Cabela’s, Golden State Foods, ORS Nasco, Compana Pet Brands, GXO and NFI Industries.

These aren’t laboratory environments. They’re real operations with real employees, existing systems, production requirements and very little tolerance for disruption.

That’s important because warehouse automation ultimately has to work under those conditions.

A technology can look terrific in a presentation. What matters is what happens when you put it into an operating warehouse.

Which brings us to one of our favorite parts of the AccuSpeech process.

Don’t Take Our Word for It. Put AccuSpeech in Your Warehouse.

Most of our successful customer relationships begin with an on-site Proof of Concept.

We spend two days at the customer’s facility working with their existing environment, equipment and workflows. The objective is to demonstrate connectivity, identify automation opportunities and let the operations team experience what AccuSpeech can actually do.

It’s one thing to watch a software demonstration.

It’s quite another to see the technology working with your devices, your applications, your barcodes and your workflows.

That’s usually when the possibilities become obvious.

From there, successful projects can move toward production deployment without requiring an organization to rip out the technology it already depends on.

New Name. New Website. Same Obsession With Better Automation.

The transition from Accuspeech to AccuSpeech represents where the company has been heading for some time.

Voice is still part of our DNA. But AccuSpeech today is about something larger: finding practical ways to automate data collection and operational workflows using the systems, devices and applications companies already have.

We’re proud of what we’ve built over the past 20 years, and we’re even more excited about where we’re going next.

So take a look around the new AccuSpeech website.

And if you’re wondering whether there are workflows inside your operation that could be faster, simpler or more automated, let us show you rather than tell you.
